Customizing UI 101
___________________________________________________________________________________________

This UI was designed to have as much flexibility within the game itself for individual customization however a few of the elements have to be customized outside of the game. I have included a few extra files with this UI to do so. In game customization instructions can be found listed with each mod pieces set of instuctions in the Instructions.txt file. Whenever SageUI is mentioned this refers to the UI folder you copied to
c:/program files/sony/everquestII/UI (maybe different if you have EQ2 installed on a different drive). SageUI_LU21 refers to the origionally extracted folder you downloaded onto your computer.

Changing the Map POI Size
_________________________
The default size is 10X10. If you would like them larger (12X12) or smaller (8X8) then go to your Eq2Map folder found in your SageUI folder. In there are three files named skinnable_Skinnable_Styles. Two have a precuser of 8X8 and 12X12. If you want them bigger or smaller delete or rename the plain skinnable_Skinnable_Styles file and rename the appropriate 12X12 (bigger) or 8X8 (smaller) file to just skinnable_Skinnable_Styles.

No Autoshowing Windows
_____________________
The Command Center, Emotes, and Timer window are all made to autoshow now. If you would like to make them not autoshow then follow these steps: Delete eq2ui_mainhud_startbutton.xml and rename the file eq2ui_mainhud_startbutton_No_Autoshow.xml to eq2ui_mainhud_startbutton.xml. If you want only one or two of the windows to show then open the file eq2ui_mainhud_startbutton.xml with Notepad and start at the third line of code that begins with OnShow="show_window+...... You will see each windows file name repeated twice. To remove that window from autoshowing delete those two appearances of code. Example: show_window="mainhud.timer" show_window="mainhud.timer" would be deleted to remove the timer window. You can also add windows here to autoshow as well. For example to autoshow the persona bar (file named _Fetish_mainhud_personabar.xml) you drop everything before the word "mainhud" and add a period where the underscore is. The code you would add would then be show_window="mainhud.personabar" show_window="mainhud.personabar". The command center does need to be changed if want to be able to close it. The default one cannot be closed. Find the file eq2ui_journals_inventory.xml and delete. Rename the file eq2ui_journals_inventory_Closeable.xml to eq2ui_journals_inventory.xml. Just delete the eq2ui_mainhud_emote.xml file if you dont want to use.

Making the Cure Bar Autoshow (or any window for that matter)
_____________________________________________________
If you would like the Cure Bar to autoshow on load then follow the following steps. This can be done for any window you would like to autoshow. Find a window that already autoshows. The best one to use is the experience window or the player or grp windows. Open this file with Notepad. Skip down to the third line (leave the first two alone). Type in the following substituting the mainhud.cures with whatever window you want to autoshow: OnShow="show_window=(mainhud.cures) show_window=(mainhud.cures)". Save and exit. If you want to add more than one window to this line just make sure you leave a space between the show_window... and include it within the quotes. The show_window=... code must be typed twice for it to work. Its just the way EQ2 was built.

Changing Splash Screens (Load In Pics)
_________________________________
I have included a "Patriotic" set as well with UI which you can use to replace the 911 ones if these are offensive to you. I fully understand some are not responsive to the suggestion that our great nation's own government had anything to do with such a terrible act. Please check out the info on your own. If anything to attempt to refute the evidence out there. I encourage everyone to check out the facts on their own. Find out the truth. Share what you learn. I, myself, find the facts very difficult to swallow, but thank God for making me fairly intelligent and street wise enough to see through the smoke and mirrors routine. The day we let something like what happenned in New York go unanswered for and the people who devised this grand deception are left unaccountable for their acts is the day the American people give up the very last bit of what is left of their precious dignity and freedom. Terroist DID commit that act apun the American People and are continuing to do so today by squeezing the people of every last penny they have and killing off our strongest, brightest, and most intelligent, I could spend several paragraphs writing here but the real point is that I am a proud American but I am very disgusted with what is happenning currently. I hope you will check into this further. Please enjoy the Patriotic spash screens. I love my country as much as any other American and both spash screens sets were made because of that love. To change delete or rename the file splash_logos.dds. Rename the file splash_logos_Patriotic.dds to splash_logos.dds. You can find both files in the c:/program files/sony/everqiest II/UI/SageUI/Images/Frontend/ folder. To use default ones just delete or rename the splash_logos.dds and the UI will automatically load them.

Player Window Without Bars (More Compact)
_____________________________________
I have included a more compact version of the player window that removes bars completey leaving only the digital read-out. To install delete the file eq2ui.mainhud.player.xml and rename the file eq2ui.mainhud.player_no_bars.xml to eq2ui.mainhud.player.xml.

Group Member Window Set-up Click to Cast on Name
_____________________________________
Find and open the file eq2ui_mainhud_groupmembers.xml with Notepad. Using the find and replace feature found in the Edit drop down menu search for the word "YOURSPELLHERE" and replace with a spell name of your choice. Punctuation counts so capitalize name exactly as is appears in-game. You will find and replace five incidents of "YOURSPELLHERE". You can replace all with the same spell name or if you want to have a different one for the other chars feel free to do so. Usually best to have same spell like a ward, heal, rescue, interference, etc. Save and exit.

Custom Loadscreens
_________________
I have included the TKing Custom Loadscreens as well as adding a few default ones and one I found in a forum (I apologize for not being able to give the author their credit). To install copy the folder "Loadscreens" from the extracted "Sage UI Optional Stuff" into your SageUI "Images" folder. When you load game it will use these screens.

Coin select without presets
_______________________
If you just don't want the presets altogether you may remove them by deleting the file eq2ui_popup_setpricememory.xml (found in your SageUI folder) and renaming eq2ui_popup_setpricememory_no_presets.xml to eq2ui_popup_setpricememory.xml.

Maintained Spells That Self Hides Info
________________________________
The default window keeps all spell icons and info including timers visible all the time. The alternate one autohides this info and compacts to show just the icons. Apun mouseover the info reappears. To change delete the file eq2ui_mainhud_maintained.xml and then rename the file eq2ui_mainhud_maintainedcompact.xml to eq2ui_mainhud_maintained.xml.

Customizing ProxyActor (Name Titles)
____________________________________
This part is neccessary really. Open the file in you SageUI folder called eq2ui_proxyactor.xml with Notepad. Look at the screen shot called Modding. Where you see the highlighted ADDHERE is where you are going to put the spell you use to pull with or attack with the most. I have modded this window so it now has two spell buttons, 1 and 2. Do a search and replace with notepad. I have changed the ADDHERE to YOURSPELLHERE1 and YOURSPELLHERE2. The only other button is the ranged button and I made them all 33% bigger to make easier to punch. The spell names are case sensitive. Save the file and you are done. If you do not want the numbers and letters above the names just delete this file.

Customizing The Market Favorites
________________________________
This needed its own file so check out MarketFavs.txt. It details how to customize this mod feature found on the market window designed by Zonx. I will be adding a forth Favorites dropdown menu soon so you will see that file already in the SageUI folder but at this time it is not being used. Do not change anything in this file as it is already customed to each char and class.

Customizing the Command Center Sliders
______________________________________
Another mod that is best described by the mod designer in a seperate file called how_to_sliders.txt.

Alternate Exp Bar Config
__________________________
The default is Adventure exp (A), Achievement Exp (Ac), Guild Exp (G), and then Tradeskill Exp (T). If you want A,G,T,AC then rename the file eq2ui_mainhud_experience.xml found in your SageUI folder something else and then rename the file Alternate_eq2ui_mainhud_experience.xml to eq2ui_mainhud_experience.xml.

Custom Music
______________________________________
You can get this file at my download site, http://www.savefile.com/projects.php?pid=483343. It replaces the default music with a mix of new music includes blues, rock, and hip hop. Instructions on installing are included with the file.

Changing The Custom Presets
______________________________
The UI has the standard default settings associated with the seven buttons now. The raid buttons are standard as well and should, at the very least, be the ones you customize. The technique is the same for all custom buttons however. The first thing you want to do is load EQ2 and set your display settings to the way you want them to match the button you want to customize. The first one you will do will be when raiding. The next is your non raiding setting and then finally your custom slots 1-7. Click accept. This is IMPORTANT as this saves your settings to the eq2ui.ini file in your Everquest II subdirectory. Now go to windowed mode and open your custom SageUI folder. In your new SageUI folder you will find a file called eq2ui_custompreset.exe. Click on this to run. Leave the box checked next to Kosmos Style. Profile 1 is when raiding, profile 2 when not raiding, and profile 3 will be used to set your custom settings 1-7. Do number 1 first. The procedure is the same for all. Set your settings the way you like when raiding and set to profile 1 and hit GO. This saves your settings to the eq2ui_custompreset1.xml file in your SageUI folder. Open this new file with notepad. Highlight all the text after the heading and above the footing. It will look like this:

  <?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?>
<Checkbox BackgroundColor="#FFFFFF" BackgroundOpacity="1.000" LocalTooltip="Raid Mode OFF" Location="145,16" Name="Custom2" OnSet="Parent.Custom1.checked=false Parent.Custom1.checked=false Parent.Custom3.checked=false Parent.Custom3.checked=false

*********************************
[your settings should be here in between the above and below text at beginning and end of file, you want to copy all the settings files from the new preset but do not copy the text below or above the settings]
**********************************

" ScrollExtent="14,15" Size="14,15" Style="CustomStyle" TextColor="#EBDEAA" Tooltip="Raid Mode OFF"></Checkbox>
<CheckboxStyle DisabledTextStyle="/Fonts.FontZapf15" Name="CustomStyle" NormalTextStyle="/Fonts.FontZapf15" RStyleActivated="CustomStyle.activated_rect" RStyleDefault="CustomStyle.default_rect" RStyleMouseOver="CustomStyle.default_mouseover_rect" RStyleMouseOverActivated="CustomStyle.activated_mouseover_rect"/>

Click copy to copy the settings to your clipboard. Now open the folder called Video in your custom SageUI folder. Open the eq2ui_custompreset1.xml file with notepad. Again highlight the same area. Click paste to replace this text with your settings text. They may look similar but all these files are different. The locations and settings for the UI mod are contained in the lines you are not touching. You are mearly copying your settings to the UI's buttons. You will repeat this procedure for all buttons. Next you will do your non-raiding button. You will be copying the settings out of the file eq2ui_custompreset1.xml to the custompreset2.xml file in your video folder. Repeat for all the custom button settings you wish to change. Usually its a good idea to change the Extreme Quality one to a little lower as most systems cannot handle this setting ever. Good luck and enjoy!

Additional Login Slots (Multiple Account Users)
____________________________________________________________________
Login MOD. You now have the option of having 6, 8, 12,18, or 30 slots available for those who need more because of multiple accounts or less if you have only one. The default is six. You can also swap out the 6 char login with the default one if you want to remove the website plug I have installed. I still recommend you all check www.stopthelie.com out and watch the movie Loose Change. If you would like to change to one of the others delete the loginscene.xml file found in your SageUI folder. Find the appropriately name Loginscene file with the number of slots you want. i.e. 18 eq2ui_loginscene.xml is an 18 slot loginscene. Rename it by removing the slot number identifier. For exampe 8 eq2ui.loginscene.xml would become eq2ui.loginscene.xml. When setting up the larger slotted character logins you will have to enter your login name and password on each line of code for each button as this is set-up to be used with multiple accounts. The line of code will look something like this:

<Button Username="AccountX" Password="PassX" LocalText="CharacterX" LocalTooltip="ServerX"

You will have to change "Accountx" to your login name and "Passx" to your password (copy and paste again!).
"Characterx" and "Serverx" are your character name and server respectfully.

Adding Notes to the Command Center
________________________________
You have the ability to add text files to the UI that you can access in game. Great for adding the quest walk-thrus from ogaming.com. You can just copy and paste to do. To note files are located in your notes folder located at c:/program files/sony/everquest II/UI/SageUI/Infocenter/notes/. The text files look like this:
note01.txt - note24.txt. Open the one you want to edit with your favorite text editor (Notepad works) and type or paste away. Save and then to see in game open the command center and click on the big question mark to opent the infocenter. Click the Notes tab and the top and then the appropriate note number tab.

NOTE: There will be more customizations available in future. For now these are what I have tested and tweaked to work with this UI. If you have something you think would make this UI better, please let me know. Email me with any questions or suggestions at Sage_Eternal_Hope@comcast.net.
